Snapchat users are 20 percent more likely to make a purchase on their mobile device than non-users. The company's new Retail Footprints e-commerce report series sheds light on its users' online and offline shopping behaviors and preferences.


  • Pinterest added new on-platform shopping options. Most notably, the real-time connection to retail databases will make Pins more dynamic, providing increased transparency about product prices and availability.
  • YouTube now counts engagements at 10-second views instead of 30 seconds. Networks have been moving their goalposts for years, and this move helps better align YouTube metrics with studies showing that brand lift occurs very early in view time. 
  • Facebook officially rolled out 3D photos for all users. The next-gen content format, which adds artificial depth to iPhone Portrait mode photos, is one more way Facebook is trying to keep the News Feed interesting.
