THE RUNDOWN

  • Facebook users can now watch videos as a group. The new Watch Party feature lets members of a group watch Live or recorded videos together while interacting in real time.
  • YouTube is testing a new way for viewers to discover video content. The Explore tab will offer a wider variety of video recommendations, rather than making suggestions based strictly on past viewing activity and other behaviors.
  • Snapchat launched a private marketplace for publishing partners to sell ads directly to brands. The new self-serve ad platform lets brands select specific shows and channels, while giving publishers more control over pricing.
