Despite recently reporting a decline of 3 million daily active users, Snapchat is still the most popular platform among teens. In fact, new research reveals that 16.4 million 12- to 17-year-olds will use Snapchat this year, compared with 12.8 million for Instagram, and the platform is expected to remain dominant among teen users through 2022.


  • Instagram introduced new tools with security and transparency in mind. Among these new tools is an "About This Account" section designed to give users more information and insight into account authenticity.
  • Facebook is rolling out access to a pixel for Groups. The update allows marketers to capitalize on engagement within Facebook Groups to track users’ behavior, creating more data to help them better understand their audience.
  • YouTube added tools to let users know how much time they've spent watching videos on the platform. Following in Facebook's footsteps, YouTube aims to help users monitor and control their usage.
