$10 billion. That's how much revenue Instagram stands to gain in the next two years from its new Checkout feature and other advancements in its e-commerce experience.


  • Facebook introduced a new option called "Why am I seeing this post?" The feature outlines key factors that determine what users see in their feeds (such as the number of times they’ve interacted with a post’s author in the past). Greater transparency is coming to ads as well. Users can now see whether an advertiser has uploaded a list containing their contact information.
  • Instagram is making moves to monetize content on IGTV. The platform is considering introducing ad breaks to incentivize creators to produce content.
  • LinkedIn is rolling out document uploading to posts. All users can now upload documents or presentations directly to their feeds, groups, or pages.

In honor of Equal Pay Day, the Planters-owned brand NUT-rition launched a campaign to raise awareness of gender pay inequality. In its hidden-camera video, male customers become outraged when they're asked to pay the same price for a bag with 20% less product.
