Ruth Soukup, Author & Entrepreneur

"Do it scared." That's the life motto of entrepreneur and author Ruth Soukup, who found herself at rock bottom in her early 20s and took steps—despite being terrified—to pull herself out of a deep depression.

In one of my recent pieces for Forbes, I talked with Ruth about the seven fear archetypes she outlines in her book, Do It Scared: Finding the Courage to Face Your Fears, Overcome Obstacles, and Create a Life You Love, as well as a few tips for working with your fear, setting goals, and getting out of the day-to-day grind that makes us feel stuck. She says: "So much research shows that we as humans are actually happier when we're striving for something. It's not in the accomplishing; it's in the striving."
