When visiting Facebook's Watch platform for intentional viewing, users stay to watch videos 5X longer than in the News Feed, where they're in discovery mode. Facebook released a new video report following its global release of Watch last week.


  • Instagram is building a standalone app for shopping. Taking a giant leap toward e-commerce, the app will let users browse collections of goods from merchants they follow and purchase them without leaving the platform.
  • Snapchat added "Bounce," a feature that mirrors Instagram's "Boomerang." After witnessing Instagram copy many of its own features, Snapchat is ramping up its efforts to compete with its main rival.
  • Facebook is testing the ability to share links in Stories. The new feature could potentially boost use of Facebook Stories, which currently has 150 million daily active users (compared to 400 million for Instagram Stories).
